Vir Das – “The Boarding Das”

On the heels of sold out performances across the world, accomplished Indian actor, stand-up comedian, musician and writer, Vir Das, will be appearing in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway and Denmark as part of his Boarding Das World Tour. 

Das’ tour is in support of his upcoming one-hour comedy special that will be released by Netflix April 25.  The special, titled “Abroad Understanding,” was shot in both New Delhi and New York, and will cement him as the first ever comedian from India to premiere a special on the streaming service. Following his American tour, Das will embark on a global stand-up tour preforming on six continents and in 20 countries- Canada, Australia, Switzerland, UK, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Nigeria among others.

Das has garnered attention across film, television and stand-up as the biggest English speaking comedian in India and has proven himself to be one of the country’s top entertainers.  Born and raised in India and educated in the US, Das transforms the western image of the typical Kwik-E-Mart humor into a show that is raw, edgy, intelligent and relevant. Das’ performance is a marriage between theater and comedy, captivating audiences with his fast-paced high-energy delivery and clever wit.

Through his various tours, including The History of India and Battle of Das Sexes, he has sold over half a million tickets as a stand up.  While he spent his formative years in India, his comedy perspective is accessible and relatable to a mainstream audience and he is poised to take over the United States with his unique point-of-view.  He recently concluded a two-week run at London’s prestigious Soho Theatre, and this summer, he was featured at the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Vir climbed the ranks of the Bollywood elite in various films such as “BadMaash Company,” “Delhi Belly” and “Revolver Rani.” The Hollywood Reporter has said, “Das Exhibits a deft comic timing and a winning vulnerability… A sparkling comic performance.”
