“The light that you discover in your life is proportionate to the amount of darkness you are willing to forthrightly confront.” I really like that – it’s about peace and contentment in life needing to be earned through challenge and adversity – shortcuts – instant gratification – don’t work or don’t work for very long.
One of my many favourite interviews was the channel 4s with Cathy Newman, she tried to accuse him of being transphobic how he masterfully shot that down was intellectual genius
My favorite clip and quote from Dr J B Peterson is, “It’s not okay, to be a man, It’s neccessary. What are we going to do without men, take a look around, men are doing impossible things. They’re under the streets, working in the Sewers. They’re upon powerlines in storms and rain. They’re keeping this impossible infrastructure functioning”. Etc.
“Do you think cutting family out is a good idea?”
Jordan P: “When it’s necessary, if you think it would be most beneficial. You’ll be surprised too because issues that pushed you away will most likely sort themselves out. Like a rubber band, it all pings back when a such a gesture is presented”
This quote is from years ago so it’s more paraphrased. It really helped remove the guilt a year after leaving, it blew my mind how much more respectful my entire family is now. Still haven’t gone back after all these years but I’m still enjoying the peace after all those years.

What Jordan said about infidelity and trust has stayed with me through tough times. What he said made me feel understood and really described how I feel.
A harmless man is not a good man.
A good man is a very, very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control.
“It’s very helpful to hear that they should make themselves competent and dangerous, and take their proper place in the world. Because it’s the alternative to being weak (being dangerous). And weak is not good. You should be capable of it, but that doesn’t mean you should use it. If you’re not a formidable force, there’s no morality in your self control.”
