The letters that are for the paper, but not for the mouth!!
The 101 English level when NO means NO.
The use of the word “ass”, depending on where you put it, it can be a good
Or bad thing.
Saying “language” when someone curses is like seeing somebody about to be rolled over by a bus and shout “TRANSPORTATION!”
:-))))))))
The worst insult in America “I f****d your mom!”. If someone says that in in Finland we’ll be like “it’s awesome! She has been very lonely!…”
My favorite ISMO moment is his bit about the word “ASS”. He breaks it down like a physics problem: “kick-ass” is good, “flat-ass” is bad, “badass” is great, “dumbass” is terrible… the word has no rules and ISMO is standing there in genuine distress trying to figure out why Americans did this to a perfectly innocent word. It’s the purest, most relatable immigrant experience I’ve ever seen turned into comedy.
I am IN a plane, ON my seat, staring AT my phone… no, wait, that’s not right
I still laugh at the bit where ISMO analyzes the phrase “I’m good.” Such a simple everyday expression, yet he manages to expose how strangely vague it really is. Nobody else notices these things the way he does.
I loved the bit where ISMO compares Finnish and American communication styles. His explanation that Finns treat silence as part of the conversation completely changed the way I think about communication—and made me laugh the whole time.
My favorite ISMO moment is his routine about customer service conversations. The way he breaks down all the unnecessary words and hidden meanings in everyday interactions is brilliant!
I love the “literally” gag. A girl said: “I literally died!” And Ismo replied something like: “I’m sorry for your death”. And the pronunciation “lirelalili… lirela…literral…e”… X-D
My favorite ISMO moment is when he talks about being confused by all the different ways Americans say goodbye. What should be a two-second interaction somehow turns into a five-minute process, and his breakdown of it is absolutely hilarious
That video of Ismo after driving a rallycross car, talking with very hard “rally English” accent is just hilarious. black round Pirrelli!
In, on, at. Especially when talking about the bed. You can be either in the bed or on the bed. If your jeans are on, you’re on the bed, but if your d*ck is out, you’re in the bed. That’s the best one, so hilarious 😂
I’m an English and American culture teacher(adults only) and the stand up about the word ass is a part of my syllabus 🤣🤣🤣 pure gold!
My favorite ISMO moment is when he talks about how “positive thinking” sounds completely different to a Finn. The contrast between Finnish realism and American optimism was so relatable and hilariously accurate
The sauna routine changed the way I think about awkward silences. ISMO is probably the only person who can make a room full of people laugh by defending the idea that nobody needs to say anything at all
The word with no wovels in It, squirrell, hahaha
My favorite ISMO moment is when he talks about Finnish winters. Halfway through the routine, I stopped thinking “that can’t be true” and started thinking “how are these people still alive?” The funniest part is that ISMO describes it all as if he’s talking about perfectly normal weather!
Why don’t we cover our mouths when we fart, just like we do when we sneeze or cough?
Me encanta cuando ISMO describe situaciones sociales estadounidenses desde una lógica completamente ajena. No se ríe de ellas ni las critica; simplemente las examina con tanta seriedad que terminan pareciendo mucho más extrañas de lo que son
The prepositions bit made me realize I’ve been using “in”, “on” and “at” my whole life with completely undeserved confidence. ISMO is right when he says English seems simple… until you try to explain it.
What I enjoy most about ISMO is that he can make me doubt things I was perfectly comfortable not understanding. I start a routine thinking “that’s just how it is” and end up wondering who came up with it in the first place
he finds absurdity hiding in places that seemed completely normal five minutes earlier
What I like most about ISMO is that he never sounds like he’s trying to be funny. He sounds like someone who genuinely wants an answer to a question that nobody else thought to ask. The laughter just happens along the way.
My favorite ISMO moment is when he explains why he doesn’t have children. Not because they’re expensive, not because they’re a lot of work, but because there is always a small chance that one day your child will kill you. “It’s rare, but when it happens, that’s f***ing annoying.” The logic is flawless.
Best ISMO moment it’s his natural way to say things and do not curse for free
-talking to girls can be intimidating. The can say mean things
– I won’t touch you with a ten foot pole
– can you please convert that to metric
I don’t know If you have notice but English is not my first language 😂😂😂
I still laugh at the moisturized joke.
“When I’m in the shower, I’m so moist. One could even argue that I’m almost wet”
The “there are hungry people in Africa” joke 😂🙌
I heard the exact same thing from my grandma growing up, so when ISMO pointed to his belly and said, “I hope they’re happy now,” I completely lost it.
The drive-thru story. “What if I make car noises?” 🤣 I don’t know why, but that line gets me every time.
The Superman joke. Everyone remembers “Is it a bird? Is it a plane?” but only ISMO asks why that guy keeps getting it wrong. “Perhaps you are not the person who should be pointing things out in the first place” 😄
My fauvorite thing about Ismo is .. basically . how he speaks and the way he laughs during the shows 🙂
I Didn’t Know Sh*t is an amazing video for me as in spanish we have similar situations.. it will be great to have him doing the same with spanish… come on 🙂
